AI Code Change Inspector

Compare original and AI-generated JavaScript, PHP or Laravel code, inspect review signals and build a focused regression test plan locally.

What did the AI change?

Compare one file, inspect review signals and prepare regression checks. Processing stays in this browser; this tool does not send code to a model, execute it or save it.

Maximum 1,000 lines and 200,000 characters per input. No source code is included in exported reports or review prompts.

How to use AI Code Change Inspector

  1. Choose JavaScript, PHP or Laravel and paste the original and revised version of one file.
  2. Add observable acceptance criteria, then inspect the diff and text-pattern review signals.
  3. Run the suggested checks in your project. Export notes or copy an AI review prompt without source code.

A reproducible example

Use Load example to try this input, then change one value and inspect the result.

const response = await fetch('/api/profile');
if (!response.ok) throw new Error('Request failed');
return response.json();

Second input:
const response = await fetch('https://example.com/profile');
console.log(await response.json());

Review what changed after AI writes code

A plausible explanation from an assistant is not proof that a revision preserves behavior. Compare the original and proposed code before accepting a change. This inspector aligns lines and highlights additions and removals, including whitespace changes. It does not infer whether a refactor is equivalent.

Use signals as questions, not verdicts

Text patterns identify new network calls, dynamic execution, logging, HTML insertion, imports and possible credential assignments. Removed validation and access-control patterns get a separate signal. Comments and strings can match; aliases and multiline calls may be missed. A finding is a reason to inspect a line, not a vulnerability diagnosis.

Verify the behavior your application promises

A Laravel revision can remove authorization while keeping a successful response identical. A JavaScript refactor can change the request destination or error behavior. Use the language-specific checklist and your acceptance criteria to select regression tests. The inspector does not execute code, run tests or enforce criteria.

Keep source code under your control

Comparison runs in a browser worker with input limits and a five-second timeout. Nothing entered in these controls is sent to a tool backend or a model, and the utility does not persist inputs. Reports and copied review prompts omit source text and user-entered acceptance criteria. Add redacted code separately if you choose to use an external assistant.

Common questions

Does this use an AI model?

No. It inspects AI-generated changes using line comparison and transparent text patterns. No API key is required.

Does a clean result mean the code is safe?

No. Read the full diff and run meaningful tests. This tool cannot verify semantics, dependencies or application security.

Can I compare an entire repository?

No. Compare one file up to 1,000 lines and 200,000 characters per version. Repository context still needs human or additional review.
